15th February, 2018 – Mississauga Of the New Credit First Nation –
On 15 December, 2017 Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Hamilton Region had launched a new collaborated initiative, a Food drive, with the help of Mississauga of New Credit First Nation. The collected food by both communities was to be donated to Hagersville Food Bank. The Hagersville Food bank helps the Indigenous families through the winter and other times of the year. AMJ Hamilton made an effort to collect food within their community and MNCFN made an effort to collect food within their own community and they both donated food to Hagersville Food Bank. This is the first time both communities launched this new initiative.
Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Hamilton Region collected and donated more than 17,000lbs of food to Hagersville Food Bank.
On 15th of February a check for 17,000lbs of food was presented by the National President of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Canada to Hagersville Food bank with the presence of Chief of Mississauga of New Credit First Nation, Stacey Laforme.
After the presentation of the check, National President of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Canada had a meeting with Chief Stacey Laforme.
