4th November, 2017 – Grand Falls-Windsor, NL – Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Canada held a Building Bridges Event between AMJ and Qalipu First Nation called “Building Bridges between the Qalipu First Nation and Ahmadiyya Muslim Community” at the Royal Canadian Legion in the town of Grand Falls Windsor, Newfoundland. The event saw 150 guests including Chief of Q’alipu First Nation, Brendan Mitchell. The National President of AMJ Canada, Lal Khan Malik, spoke about the mission of the Promised Messiah and peaceful teachings of Islam. The Q’alipu Drumming band sang the Honor and a Farewell song. O Canada was sung in Mi’kmaq language. After the ode to Newfoundland song, Lal Khan Malik Sahib led the congregation in silent prayers.
South and central Health Foundation development officer Wendy Houlihan offered a certificate of recognition to Mr. Lal Khan Malik Sahib for the financial contribution of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community to the welfare of the people of Central Newfoundland.
Brendan Mitchell Chief Qalipu First Nation offered a Qalipu souvenir gift to AMJ National President Mr. Lal Khan Malik. All the members in attendance were offered a “LOVE FOR ALL HATRED FOR NONE” lapel pin. The event was well covered by the local newspaper.
